Working on a problem from Peskin and Schroeder (and Zee too actually), I’ve hit dead ends in many different ways. The last dead end looks impressive just sitting there on the table where I abandoned it:
… however, after getting results that weren’t expected a number of different ways, I think I finally understand the fundamental assumption that I had wrong. Take >= IV.
Can totaly relate 😀
For the past 3 months I’ve been working on quantum field theory and this is exactly my desk ends up towards the end of the night!
I have studied from p&s and zee. I would also recommend srednicki’s book to you.
Have fun!
By the way what is the brand of that pen? Looks like it has a real smooth writing.
That was my favorite brand of pen, which used to be available at the dollar store (it was a liquid gel pen that dispensed very quickly, perfect for frenzied problem solving). They don’t stock it anymore, and I haven’t found one like it since, and am very sad!
